Transbay Block 4, part of the F4 Transbay Partners LLC joint partnership with Hines, is the largest affordable housing project in downtown San Francisco located between Howard, Main, Tehama and Beale Streets.

Designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz and Kennerly Architecture and Planning, Block 4 is the last remaining residential block available for private development in the highly transit-oriented Transbay district. The project includes 685 units split between a tower and midrise component which will accommodate generational residences. 

At 512 feet in height, the 47-story, 463-unit residential tower includes 177 units of ultra-luxury for-sale condominiums, 260 luxury market rate rental units, and 86 affordable rental units. The 70-foot, six-story, 20-unit townhome building fronts the new 1.1-acre Transbay Park.

The 202 affordable units developed in partnership with Mercy Housing are in a 161-foot, 16-story mid-rise building.
